When I was a child of nine years, a heavy steel door on an elevated train was closed with a great deal of force on one of my fingers, crushing it badly. I was taken to a medical doctor, who dressed it carefully and gave me a bottle of medicine and instructions as to changing the bandages. At the end of four days the whole hand was badly discolored and greatly swollen, and the arm pained to the shoulder. I had also been unable to eat or sleep. At this time my parents turned to Christian Science for help. My mother, in explaining some of the trouble to the practitioner, voiced her fear of blood poisoning. Immediately the practitioner said, "You need tell me no more; I see the whole trouble—fear." The pain was entirely destroyed with one treatment, and the next morning the hand and arm were perfectly normal except for a slight discoloration, and this disappeared in a short time.
Since that time I have had many proofs of the healing efficacy of Christian Science: total deafness in one ear was perfectly healed; recently a badly sprained ankle was instantaneously healed, and I was able to play a pipe organ that night in perfect comfort. These are just a few of the many blessings that have come to me through the understanding and application of Christian Science.
World are inadequate to express the gratitude I feel to Mary Baker Eddy for her untiring efforts to give this great discovery, Christian Science, to the world, thus making it possible for all mankind to understand the teachings of our Master.—(Miss) J. Marguerite Hypes, Clinton, Iowa.
