Christian Science has been a guiding star, a light unto my path, flooding and filling my consciousness with the truth for over twenty years. It means more to me than words can express. Only my heart's deep desire to grow in wisdom and understanding can attest my life's purpose so to follow the light that others may see and be led.
I have experienced and witnessed many proofs of the healing power of Christian Science. My twin brother, when just a little fellow, cut an artery in his foot while playing with a knife. Mother, although just a beginner in Science, went to him and applied her understanding of God's laws. The flow of blood was instantly stopped. This same brother a few years later had his foot caught under a loaded bobsled as it broke midway down a steep hill. He was brought home, suffering with pain. A Christian Science practitioner was called, and in six weeks the foot, which had been twisted till it was almost reversed, was normal and completely healed. A young woman, a friend of the family, after having several operations for internal cancer by world-famous surgeons, was taken home to await the end. In her extremity help was asked for in Christian Science. Not long afterwards she visited in our home for a few days and we learned she had been instantaneously healed by the practitioner's understanding of these words from the Bible: "In him [God] we live, and move, and have our being."
As to my own experiences, Christian Science has proved itself to me as a wonderful protective and preventive power. I have instantly stopped pain from burns and scalding by the understanding of these words from our textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy (p. 467), "Matter neither sees, hears, nor feels."
