Two letters which recently appeared in your columns...

Two letters which recently appeared in your columns have just come to my attention, and that your readers may not receive a wrong impression of what Christian Science teaches, I ask the privilege of your columns.

In answering a letter that had appeared previously, a correspondent makes objection to the statement, "As he [a man] thinketh in his heart, so is he," calling it "foolish babble," forgetting that it was not the one to whose letter he is replying who said this. The statement is found in the book of Proverbs in the Bible.

Your correspondent, possibly without intention, in connecting Christian Science with this quoted Biblical statement has called attention to the fact that Christian Science is founded on the Scriptures, and that the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, is truly a commentary on the Bible and in no way deviates from what the Scriptures teach.
