It is a joy to testify to the healing power of Truth. Having been brought up in an orthodox church, I was inclined to believe that sickness was sanctioned by God; but at a time of separation, when my outlook seemed quite hopeless, the words "God is love" arrested my despairing thought, and the "still small voice" whispered that this hopelessness could not be God's will. I was then guided to appeal to a friend whose shining example turned my thoughts toward Christian Science, and she, in turn, directed me to a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly started me on my journey Spiritward. This was over seven years ago, and since then I have had many proofs of God's care.

It is difficult for me to express in words my gratitude for all that the study and application of Christian Science have meant to me. Above all, I am daily grateful for a better understanding of the Bible, and for the regenerating power of the truth revealed therein, as spiritually interpreted by Mrs. Eddy; also for the revelation that true happiness is spiritual. My first healing was of the necessity of wearing glasses for reading and office work. Later I had a beautiful healing of influenza within twenty-four hours with the aid of a practitioner and by holding on to the truth of the statement quoted on page 359 of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, "God is able to raise you up from sickness." Although to human sense it seemed almost a physical impossibility, the strength needed to go forth to my work as usual was given me, proving indeed that "God is our refuge and strength;" and by five o'clock in the afternoon I was completely healed. My gratitude was unbounded, for a previous experience of influenza just before coming into Christian Science had kept me in bed for two weeks with a nurse in attendance.

I am also most humbly grateful for the healing of chronic constipation and hemorrhoids. This healing took over two years to accomplish, during which time I had many days of intense suffering and never a day entirely free from pain. Truth, however, always enabled me to keep right on and perform the duties required of me. When resentment and self-pity were supplanted with more love, the healing was effected.
