Probably the aspect of Christian Science which is of the greatest interest to most people is that which relates to the healing of disease and sin. Christian Science is simply a return to primitive Christianity, in which the healing of physical sickness played as great a part as the healing of sin. In many places throughout the Gospels, Christ Jesus coupled the two, and he made it the test of discipleship when he said, "These signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover."
