It is with a heart full of love and gratitude that I tell of...

It is with a heart full of love and gratitude that I tell of my experience since taking up the beautiful religion of Christian Science. I was a hopeless sufferer, and our family doctor and friend told me he was at a standstill regarding my case. Not being able to give me any relief with medicine, he said the only hope was in an operation on the spine, but he could not promise a perfect healing. In my despair I sought relief in other remedies. Osteopathic, chiropractic, electric bath, and many other treatments were given me. All seemed to give some relief, but it was not permanent. I was very much discouraged and growing worse.

Christian Science was presented to me by a kind neighbor who was a Christian Scientist, and the fear of an operation made me look into its teaching. I visited a practitioner, after reading the periodicals one week, with a new hope that if God is Love and I was faithful He would give me my health again. Sciatic spinal trouble, rheumatism in the worst form, constipation, eczema, palpitation of the heart, stomach trouble, and headaches all disappeared. I cannot express in words my gratitude for the spiritual uplifting, peace, and comfort that have come to me through relying on the truth.

In November, 1927, while running across a downtown street, I fell with all force on both knees on an iron manhole. It was a severe fall. My daughter was with me and I was brought to my feet and taken home. By realizing that God's power is ever operative, within one week I was able to be out of bed, stand on my feet, and take a few steps. In less than three weeks I was perfectly healed. A cough, sore throat, and severe pain in my lungs have also been overcome.
