For many years I have been a student of Christian Science, and during these years have had many proofs of the healing power of Truth when properly applied.

The healing that stands out in my thought as very wonderful was that of our eldest child, who was about a year and a half old at the time. She was suffering from bowel trouble in a severe form. We had a doctor for her, and had done everything possible in a material way, but she grew rapidly worse and could not retain even diluted milk. She finally got so low that we were very fearful. It was then that we decided to take her to a dear friend, a Christian Scientist, hoping she could help us in our trouble. I put the baby in her carriage and took her to our friend's home. I went in fear and almost despair, but I came away in joy and happiness. The child was perfectly healed while I sat telling my fears and hearing words of comfort and healing.

The child had for many days been on a very strict diet of milk diluted with rice water, but that evening she was given undiluted milk, as before her illness. I remember I was still quite fearful as I gave her the milk, but my fears were groundless for she slept peacefully through the night. How happy we were, and how thankful! The child soon grew strong again, and we had the assurance, through practical demonstration, that the truth as taught in Christian Science does heal. Through this healing several friends became interested in Christian Science.
