In your issue of October 25 there appeared an article entitled "The Influenza," containing a statement about Christian Science which I would appreciate the privilege of space to correct.

In this article Christian Science practitioners are referred to as "doctors." In order that there may be no misunderstanding, it should be known that Christian Science is not a system of therapeutical treatment of disease. Christian Science is a Christian religion, and its teachings are founded upon the lives of the prophets and apostles and the words and works of Christ Jesus. The Bible is the only authority from which the Discoverer and Founder of this religion, Mary Baker Eddy, learned of the divine Principle she sets forth in the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures."

Christian Science practitioners are followers of Mrs. Eddy who have studies the teachings of this religion and who heal the sick and the sinning after the manner of the apostles and the Christians of the early Christian church. They are not spoken of as "doctors," but as Christian Science practitioners.
