At the time I heard of Christian Science I was mentally and physically at the end of my strength. I went to a Christian Science Reading Room, asked for the address of a practitioner, and went to see her the same day. The practitioner told me with great love of this wonderful truth. Even though at first some of it seemed to be difficult to comprehend, yet I felt that I had found the right way. It was explained to me that since God is all-power and ever present, nothing else has power or presence, and that man as His image and likeness is forever secure in His love. Through the work done in Christian Science the inharmonious conditions vanished, and gradually I learned to understand that all false beliefs must be recognized as nothing. I thought I had been unjustly treated by some people to whom I had always been attached, and they had often hurt my feelings. The result was that my heart was sometimes full of resentment. Love led me; a great peace came over me, and I became a healthy, joyous person again.
I am inexpressibly grateful that I am now privileged to be a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, of this city. I wish to express my gratitude for the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly and for the church services. It is my endeavor to learn more and more of this truth which makes free.—(Miss) Margarethe Josiger, Hamburg, Germany.
