Infinite Unfoldment

God is divine Principle, whose law can be applied to every need. Our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" (p. 129) that "in Christian Science there are no discords nor contradictions, because its logic is as harmonious as the reasoning of an accurately stated syllogism or of a properly computed sum in arithmetic."

When a problem, however big, appears, if the law of divine Principle is understood and applied, the right solution will be gained. Our thinking, therefore, must be consistent with spiritual law. We must see the opposite of the mortal, erring concept as the only reality; we must behold God's creation and God's idea, man, from the standpoint of reality—spiritual and perfect, and needing no adjustment.

The student's first need in the solution of his problems is the desire to know God, divine Principle, and to be obedient to His law. With a firm and sincere desire to be obedient to the requirements of Principle, coupled with prayerful effort, thought will receive the spiritual understanding necessary to distinguish the false from the true, the unreal from the real. As one allows the great facts of Truth to enter his consciousness, ignorant material beliefs are dispelled; just as purification begins when one pours clear water into a glass containing a sediment. During this purification of thought we should remember our ever watchful Leader's words (Retrospection and Introspection, p. 80): "If the Christian Scientist recognize the mingled sterness and gentleness which permeate justice and Love, he will not scorn the timely reproof, but will so absorb it that this warning will be within him a spring, welling up into unceasing spiritual rise and progress. Patience and obedience win the golden scholarship of experimental tuition." Consequently, if right thinking and purification of thought are allowed to continue, each problem will be solved.
