In your issue of June 22 a contributor made a facetious reference to Mrs. Eddy, at the same time indicating a desire to learn "the best way to honestly get the most out of life." Christ Jesus showed mankind how to attain this goal. His method was the perfect one. He taught that self-abnegation and true service to others are needed to make life happy. He expressed the maximum of compassion and kindness, and helped mankind practically in everyday affairs. By his acts Jesus established his words, "I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly."
As the outgrowth of her pure living and through her conscientious desire to observe the Biblical teachings, Mary Baker Eddy discovered the spiritual laws underlying the healing method of Christ Jesus. To-day, the sick, the sinning, and the sorrowing are again being lifted out of their difficulties through the same spiritual means that were employed by the Master. Those who embrace and utilize the teachings of Christian Science enjoy a new world wherein their thoughts are being turned away from baseness and selfishness to beneficial service for others. Thus they are demonstrating that obedience to the commands of the Master opens "the best way to honestly get the most out of life."
