[Written for the Sentinel]

Secure

In Him I live! I cannot fail to prove
That blest abode is safe and sure retreat
When mortal dreams would claim with perjured sense
The loss of health, and hope, and dower of love.

In Him I move! Then I am led aright,
Nor fear the safety of my Father's way.
Love leads me on, no byways lure my feet;
I walk secure, my guaranty His Word.

I have my being in my Father's love.
O Father-Mother God, I would reflect
That Love, nor ever faithless be, but live
A grateful witness of my life in Thee!
