I am sincerely grateful that I became acquainted with Christian Science. A dear friend who had been healed of cancer of the stomach called my attention to it. For fifteen years I had been suffering from muscular rheumatism, which, in spite of hospital treatment and treatment in so-called health resorts, would not yield; so I had lost confidence in medical practice. The teachings of Christian Science, which a loving practitioner explained to me as an ever present divine help, gave me new hope that I should regain my health. After the very first treatment I began to improve, and felt relieved. The struggle between Truth and error was often very severe, but the daily study of the Lesson-Sermons always renewed my strength to supplant error with the truth in my consciousness; and I thank God with all my heart that I can now move about more freely and quickly. Other sickness, such as fainting spells, colds, headaches, also disappeared. A severe case of tonsillitis was healed instantaneously through reading an article in Der Herold der Christian Science.

One day I had an experience which I should like to relate. In arranging a bedroom it was necessary for me to use a hammer in order to take a bed apart, and in doing so some splinters of enamel flew in my face. I realized the truth immediately, and placed myself under God's care; and although I felt the splinters touch my eye I was so protected that they did not penetrate the eyeball. Christian Science was also a great help to me two years ago at the passing on of my mother. The loving help of a practitioner enabled me in a very short time to overcome the pain of separation. I learned to understand that man, created in God's image and likeness, never dies; that in Spirit, Love, there is no death. This comforted me greatly.

For all these proofs of divine Love's power I am sincerely grateful, as well as for the blessed activities which our dear Leader has organized, such as the Lesson-Sermons in the Christian Science Quarterly, the Wednesday evening testimony meetings, the Sunday services, and the lectures, as well as the various periodicals, from which we can always learn anew. I am endeavoring to let infinite Mind operate in me and to fulfill Christ Jesus' demand, "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."
