Many years ago I turned to Christian Science for the...
Many years ago I turned to Christian Science for the healing of tubercular glands of the neck, from which I had suffered for ten years, during which time all kinds of material remedies were resorted to, including four operations. I was then sent to Switzerland for a year, but upon returning home the condition reappeared. I was greatly discouraged, feeling that everything had failed to heal me. It was at this time that Christian Science was brought to my notice, and, turning to it gladly, in a very short time I was completely restored to health through the earnest study of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, and attendance at Christian Science services in London, England.
Since that time this truth has brought into our home innumberable blessings, and we are learning more and more how to rely on our loving Father-Mother God to meet every problem or difficulty that may present itself. Much fear has also been overcome by taking the steps so lovingly provided by our Leader in the Church Manual, as well as in her other writings, which help us in our journey from sense to Soul. I am grateful to be able to add that for over twenty years my husband and I have been enabled to attend to our daily duties without missing a single day on account of ill health; in fact, all we have of harmony and good in our lives we owe entirely to Christian Science.
Is it any wonder that we are filled with gratitude to our beloved Leader, whose spiritual understanding and loving life of self-sacrifice have made the teachings of Christ Jesus available to a suffering world? I also desire to express my deep gratitude to The Christian Science Board of Directors and for all the activities of The Mother Church.—(Mrs.) Maude I. Walenn, Rose Bay, Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
