When I first came into contact with Christian Science, I...

When I first came into contact with Christian Science, I was not in search of physical healing, but was very far from satisfied with my outlook on life. The religious teaching of my youth had ceased to satisfy, and as I had been nurtured in a religious atmosphere, the want was very great. Christian Science met my need, but not immediately, as I had seemingly a great deal of opposition to its teaching to overcome in my own thought; however, as my mental vision began to clear and my understanding increased, I was convinced that in Christian Science the world was to receive the Comforter that would lead us "into all truth." Christian Science with its revelation of absolute Truth has come to prove that evil is the fruit of wrong thinking. This Science has entered the field of human thought with its tidings of good things, its message of "on earth peace" for all men.

Through Christian Science my consciousness of health and harmony has improved wonderfully, and I have witnessed the resultant effects on the body. For instance, Christian Science destroyed the shock and after effects attendant on an experience of being carried helpless on a runaway horse over an open moor. A severe attack of influenza was overcome in two hours.

On another occasion, the pain and swelling resulting from a severe blow on the kneecap were speedily overcome. The sense of fear, fear of the unknown that accompanies human existence, has been greatly lessened, and various faults of character are on the way to being put off. Other experiences, too numerous to relate, have proved to me that Christian Science is true because demonstrable through a clear understanding of the allness of God and His perfect creation, whether that understanding is maintained by our own knowledge or through the help of another, which has been necessary at times in my case. For that help and all that Christian Science means, not only to me but to all mankind, and for the unwavering devotion of Mrs. Eddy to the light of Truth revealed to her, which has meant to so many thousands "the wide horizon's grander view," I am indeed grateful.—Henry Moore, JR., Glasgow, Scotland.
