I have been a student of Christian Science for nine years, and am very grateful for the many blessings we have received through it. Living on a ranch we have long been seeking the truth that meets the special problems which come to us as country people. There may be some who read this whom our experiences will help.

The question of strength was the first thing I solved when confronted with tasks that seemed beyond my city muscles. The thought that strength is spiritual and available as a quality of God has sustained me in many exceedingly arduous tasks. The extremes of weather, of heat, storm, and in winter of cold (sometimes thirty degrees below zero), have been met for the children's protection with the thought that God's ideas are surrounded by divine Love and that mortal extremes of temperature cannot disturb this harmony. The crop is being protected with the truth that evil is not of God's creation. Back of all is the great truth that life is spiritual, that supply is spiritual, not dependent on so-called matter, but on God, whose infinite supply mortal thought cannot hinder flowing towards us when we look for it with spiritual understanding, knowing that God is All and God is good.

The Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," and the other writings of Mrs. Eddy have been a great help to us, and we are very grateful for them and for the loving help of practitioners who have helped us to realize that our real selves are not separate from God. Influenza, bronchial pneumonia, gallstones, appendicitis, injuries, lumbago, neuritis, asthma, infections, and contagions, such as scarlet fever, diphtheria, ringworm, have been met as false beliefs, and cast out as nothing. Loneliness, disappointment, discouragement, hate, resentment, and sensitiveness have been met many times and put to rout with the truth that man as God's idea expresses Love, and that, as our Leader says in Science and Health (p. 276), "Real consciousness is cognizant only of the things of God."
