As I look back over the past eighteen years, during which...
As I look back over the past eighteen years, during which time I have been studying Christian Science, my heart is filled with gratitude for my first healing. One thing I seemed to doubt, namely, that broken bones could be healed by Christian Science treatment without surgical setting. While attending a lecture I had full proof that this is possible. The hall was crowded and I was unshered on to the platform; others who were with me were seated in different parts of the room. At the close of the lecture, I turned to look for my friends, forgetting I was on the platform. I stepped off the edge and fell to the floor below, breaking my wrist, both large and small bones. As I seemed to be suffering intense pain, my friends asked a practitioner for help. We started at once for my home, but decided it would be best to stop at a surgeon's office for an X-ray photograph to be taken.
The surgeon's report was that both bones had been broken, but had gone back into their proper places. He was very much surprised, so I told him that I had had Christian Science treatment before I started home. The arm was not touched, except to bind it up in gauze, and it was carried in a sling for about ten days. After the first night there was no more pain. The next morning the practitioner came to visit me, and after that day I suffered inconvenience. The arm has been normal ever since. This proved to me the power of Truth, and I have never doubted it since that time.
Many beautiful healings have occurred in our home, too numerous to write about in this testimony, but I should like to mention a few of them: severe eye trouble, rheumatism, pleurisy, blood poisoning, fever, financial lack, grief, effects of accidents, resentment towards friends for unjust criticism. These experiences have not left me where they found me. I am thankful for these testing times that have brought me nearer to God. My heart rejoices at the privilege I have had in class instruction. Much help has been gained from teaching in the Sunday school. I am most grateful that the children and youth have this wonderful truth in this generation.—(Mrs.) Alice I. Fuller, Pasadena, California.
