In a recent issue of the Observer a writer inquires, "Has mind power over matter, as Christian Scientists allege?" Since he mentions Christian Scientists, permit me to inform your readers that the Mind to which Christian Scientists turn for help is not the human mind, which so readily practices deceptions. This human mind, which Paul calls the "carnal mind," and which he says is "enmity against God," is the cause of disease and it would be an absurdity to turn to it for healing. On the contrary, Christian Scientists turn to that Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus"—the divine Mind. And to say that God is unwilling or powerless to heal His children, who call upon Him, of "all manner of disease," is to repudiate the words and works of Jesus and the purport of Holy Writ from Genesis to Revelation. Christian Scientists not only "allege" that the divine Mind heals; they prove it.
