Over five years ago I asked a Christian Science practitioner for treatment. During our conversation he mentioned Jesus the Christ as the Way-shower. This to me was a new way of expressing the passage of Scripture, "I am the way." The next morning as I was walking to the street car, smoking, the thought of Jesus the Christ as the Way-shower occurred to me, along with the thought that since he was the Way-shower, we were in no wise prevented from doing as he had done. The next thought presented was that Jesus did not smoke, nor did I need to smoke; and though I had smoked for more than twenty-five years, I have had no desire to smoke since.

As I neared the car, I reached to my pocket to get my glasses that I might read a magazine I was carrying. The thought that Jesus did not wear glasses and that I did not need to wear them either came to me; and though I had worn glasses for more than six years, I have never used them since.

For these and many more healings I am grateful to God, to Jesus the Way-shower, and to Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science.
