Jesus the Christ is the true model for all evangelists

Jesus the Christ is the true model for all evangelists. He brought the gospel of spiritual healing to light in a way that had never before been presented to the world. He did not confine himself to abstract statements, but preached the gospel that healed the sick. Jesus commanded his disciples to follow his example, saying to them, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father." The command thus shows that it was not given alone to the disciples, but also to him "that believeth on me;" therefore just as imperative now as in Jesus' time. The disciples became evangelists, "bringers of light," as did also Paul, teaching and healing after the manner taught by Jesus. Christian healing was practiced for the first three centuries of the Christian era, and then sadly disappeared from the Christian Church. In the year 1866 the lost art of healing through Truth was discovered by Mrs. Eddy, the Founder of Christian Science. Through "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," the Christian Science textbook, Mrs. Eddy has given to all mankind the Christian method of healing sin and sickness. The Christian world is indebted to Mrs. Eddy for having again brought to light this gospel of healing through the Christ-power, thus proving herself a blessing to all, and a true evangelist.
