At this season of the year there comes to me a renewed sense of gratitude for the healing power of Christian Science; and I give this testimony with the hope that it may encourage some hungry and thirsty one.

For more than twenty years I was afflicted with heart disease, which developed into a complication of serious troubles. Finally my family was advised that there was no relief for me, and that I would not be able to endure many more of these attacks.

Early on Christmas morning, 1921, while visiting my daughter in Chicago, I was taken with the most severe attack I had ever experienced. Really I had no hope of returning home alive. My daughter, knowing that I had turned to Christian Science as my only hope, secured the assistance of a practitioner for me; and, like the centurion's servant, I "was healed in the selfsame hour." Almost immediately the light of the real Christmas morning began to dawn in my consciousness, dispelling the darkness and gloom as naturally as mist disappears before the morning sunshine. The Christ, Truth, was indeed born anew in my heart; and with this appearing came also the peace and comfort for which I had longed so many years. Our Christmas, which at first seemed so far removed from peace and happiness, proved to be a most joyous one indeed.
