Love and gratitude for Christian Science impel me to...
Love and gratitude for Christian Science impel me to testify of the many blessings which I have received through it. Six years ago various troubles developed. I was afflicted with epileptic nervous convulsions, and the physicians tried various remedies, but all in vain. At last I went to a famous nerve specialist, who robbed me of all hope, for he stated that there was no remedy for convulsions. Then I had another severe blow, for erysipelas appeared on both legs. This vanished within three weeks, but my legs never healed, and day and night I had to wear bandages which were put on by a physician. A specialist told me it was salt rheum. Finally, he advised me to have the legs amputated, as no remedies would help me.
I was often nearly desperate, and life was a burden to me; but "man's extremity is God's opportunity." My attention was called to Christian Science by an acquaintance, and I clung to this proffered help. I attended the Christian Science services and testimony meetings, which made a deep impression upon me. There I always found comfort, and returned home filled with hope. I saw that the old, lovely Christ-teaching was the way of Truth. In my great need I turned to a Christian Science practitioner, who soon lovingly helped me. In a few months, God brought about completely that which physicians had been unable to do in six years.
