Go-to-Church

It may be said that the rule of conduct for Christian Scientists is to be found in the Golden Rule, exemplified and amplified in the Ten Commandments and the Sermon on the Mount. Christian Science stresses the injunction of Christ Jesus that we should make clean the inside of the platter as well as the outside,—that is, that we should have our thoughts pure and right; for then our actions will certainly correspond. Guided by these rules for Christianly scientific thinking, each individual Christian Scientist must be, and is, led by what his conscience tells him is right. Christian Science takes naught of good or pleasure from any one, but gives a larger and truer sense of happiness by directing thought continuously to the one Giver of all good. In "Miscellaneous Writings" (p. 362), Mrs. Eddy writes, "Pleasure is no crime except when it strengthens the influence of bad inclinations or lessens the activities of virtue."
