With a thankful heart toward God and with gratitude toward Mrs. Eddy, who again brought us the healing message, I wish to testify of the many blessings which I have received through Christian Science. In the summer of 1919 my nine-year-old child became so seriously ill with scarlet fever that severe hemorrhages of the nose and mouth were manifested and the physician, who came in accordance with the law, ordered him removed to a hospital immediately, as he would not take the responsibility. Instead of complying with the physician's order, however, I requested the help of a Christian Science practitioner, which was lovingly given. After one week's treatment the child was almost completely healed. During his next visit the physician still considered it advisable to send him to a hospital, as scarlet fever, in his opinion, leaves all sorts of evil aftereffects; also he said that the sickness might have become internal, and in this case the child would certainly be lost.

After having treatments for three more days, the child was able to be up and to eat and drink anything he desired, regardless of the physician's instructions. After another visit the doctor caused him to be taken to a hospital. The examining physician there stated that the sickness was completely healed, that the child's skin was scaling and for a short time he would have to be kept away from other children. Since that time the child has been enjoyed the best of health. We thank God for these manifestation of good and for all the blessings received.(Mrs.) Johanna Rau, Charlottenburg, Berlin, Germany.
