Right now, just as I finish reading an article in a recent Sentinel which particularly meets my needs, I want to send my thanks and appreciation of all the help I have got from the Christian Science literature. I am also very grateful for all the good that has come to me since I have been studying Christian Science. It has been such a help both spiritually and practically in raising three children. In fact, the failure to answer my little girl's questions relative to God and Jesus satisfactorily, either to her or to myself, was what led me to take up this study. And it has been such a joy to find the reasonable answers as given to us in the Bible and explained in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy.
I find that my understanding of the truth concerning seeming accidents has enabled me to meet the falls and bumps, cuts and other errors incident to human experience in our everyday existence. Not long ago my little boy, two and a half years old, ran into his high chair, cutting and bruising his lip. It was seemingly quite a bad cut. I took him up and without even telling him to stop crying began to declare the truth silently. In a very short time, not more than a minute or two, he looked up at me, smiled through his tears and said, "Now it's fixed all right, mamma," and he was ready to play again; and in a short time all discoloration and swelling disappeared.
Since the understanding has come to me that we reflect intelligence from the one Mind, I am able to do my own work for our family of five, the youngest a baby eight months old. And this is accomplished with much less fatigue and irritation than I know would be possible without the help from my knowledge of Christian Science. I am truly grateful for all that Christian Science has done for me and also for Mrs. Eddy's unselfish devotion to the study of the Bible, and for the revelation of this great truth.
