With a heart filled with gratitude for what Christian Science...
With a heart filled with gratitude for what Christian Science has been to me I want to give this testimony. My first experience of what God is to man was in connection with the healing of rheumatism; to mortal sense I was suffering so much that I walked the floor, holding my arm and crying with pain. When Christian Science was suggested I was willing to try anything for relief. Having a friend who was a practitioner I called her up over the telephone and she at once came to me, and that was the first I had ever heard of the teachings of Christian Science. As she explained this beautiful truth to me it certainly did appeal to me, for it did sound like such good common sense.
In less than a week I was healed of rheumatism and was also healed of stoppage of the bowels. I cannot tell how thankful I was for these healings, and many times my heart overflows with gratitude for what God has taught and is teaching me each day, step by step, of the promises the Bible contains. I certainly am grateful to God for the many blessings already received, and am more grateful than words can express that there was found one so pure in thought, patient, and filled with right desire in wanting the whole world to be benefited, as the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, Mrs. Eddy.—(Mrs.) Alvina Brodersen, Maquoketa, Iowa.
