When Christian Science found me I was afflicted with what physicians call a goiter. As I began to read the literature I thought that this growth would disappear instantly, but soon saw that before such a healing could be realized I would have not only to believe in Christian Science but to change my ways of reasoning and my contradictive mind. This was a long process and the condition remained three years longer. At the end of this period, as I was returning to America from Europe, I fell sick and everybody thought I was dying. I did not take any medicine but was under Christian Science treatment. After seven weeks' sickness I suddenly became better. A month later I was healed and able to work. During this time the goiter disappeared. In the fall of 1918 a new disease came upon me and the people around began again to believe me dying, but with the help of a practitioner I promptly recovered and three weeks later successfully passed a physical examination and was accepted into military service.
For these healings and many others I am indeed very thankful. I am also grateful to our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for showing us the way.—A. Schenker, Wallingford, Conn.
