Last winter I had influenza, as did also my husband and little girl. Their cases were met very quickly, and I thought mine was too, with the exception of a slight irritation in the throat. Then about twelve o'clock one night I awoke with a sensation that I was strangling to death—I could hardly breathe. I tried to treat myself, but seemed to be getting worse instead of better, and the more I worked the worse I seemed to be getting, when this verse came to me:—

"I know not why sometimes I fall,
Seem to forget that God is all;
I grasp His outstretched arm, and lo!
God is! this is enough to know."

The pure thought that "God is" so filled my consciousness that I lay down and fell asleep, and in the morning realized more than ever that sickness is nothing but a bad dream after all.

I feel so grateful for God's protection at all times and under all circumstances, and am very grateful for the Christian Science literature, which is food to me, and for our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, who trod the pathway alone with God, that we might have this "pearl of great price."
