In November, 1908, I appealed to Christian Science for physical healing, having reached the point where there was nothing else to try. The doctors had done their best to aid me, but had given it up and warned me that I was in a precarious condition. I did not want to die and believed that God could meet my need, but my theological knowledge did not prove sufficient to break the shackles of disease. My prayers and those of my faithful minister were fruitless. Then I appealed to God for guidance, and this came quickly, in an inspiration to try Christian Science. By Thanksgiving time I was greatly relieved, and the healing work progressed steadily and in a marked degree. It became perfectly clear to me that I was being healed of many ailments. The heart and all the other organs of the body began to perform their normal functions, fear began to be replaced by confidence, and firm reliance upon God was being established. I thereupon began to study the Bible in connection with Science and Health, for my desire to know what had healed me became intense.

In the eleven years that have elapsed since the light of Truth dawned upon my consciousness I have not taken a drop of medicine, nor have I relied upon any but spiritual aid. As human needs have arisen, I have been blessed with spiritual supplies. I would be an ingrate, were I to fail to acknowledge these benefits. I am humbly grateful to God for His guidance and loving favor. I am grateful to Mrs. Eddy, the great benefactor of the human race, for her great and consecrated service to humanity in the tireless labor involved in the reestablishment of the healing ministry and practical Christianity inaugurated by the master Christian, Christ Jesus. I give this testimony for the encouragement of my fellow man, as an acknowledgment of my debt to Him "who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy disease."—George P.
