Words cannot express my gratitude for the good which...
Words cannot express my gratitude for the good which has come into my life through Christian Science. A few years ago I was stricken down with nervous exhaustion and gradually became worse, until life seemed not worth the living. Various doctors treated me, but no benefit was received. Later my husband took me to Spokane, Wash., for an operation, but I came home no better; in fact was even worse than before. As a last resort he sent me to the coast, thinking the change would benefit me, and while there I had treatment from a specialist, but grew worse.
I was staying with a sister who is interested in Christian Science, and attended church with her. After hearing a lecture I decided to try Christian Science. Next day my sister called a practitioner, and through her loving efforts to show me the truth I was entirely healed after about ten days. I have also been able, even with the slight understanding of the truth which I have, to help my son when ailments have arisen.
While I am truly thankful to God for my healing, I am more grateful for the knowledge that He is still able to heal the sick as in Jesus' time. It helps me so much in my everyday life. If at times to mortal sense the way looks dark, Truth whispers that "all things work together for good to them that love God." My greatest desire is to live my thankfulness, that every one may see my good works and praise our Father in heaven.—Maude Powers, Kalispell, Mont.
