The wonderful blessings which my children and myself have...

The wonderful blessings which my children and myself have experienced through Christian Science impel me to send my testimony. On Aug. 14, 1914, my little three year old girl lay in my arms, beyond all medical aid. We were just waiting for her to be taken from us when my mother asked me to send for a dear woman who had been healed in Christian Science. Until this time, when my loved one seemed slipping away from me, I had been very bitter against what I thought Christian Science to be, so it was with reluctance that I consented to try it.

At three o'clock in the afternoon the lady came, when the little one's condition seemed most critical, the fever being very high. After talking to me and explaining that God is our Life, she treated the child, who was instantly healed. The fever left, and the child was able to play with her sister and brother before falling into a more healthy, natural sleep than she had ever known. From birth she had been delicate. We had three doctors for her, and at last a specialist put her right leg in a cast and a brace on the other one. Since she had Christian Science treatment, her legs have become perfectly straight and she wears ordinary shoes, no supports of any kind. Under the care of the specialist she had seemed for a while to improve. I was giving her five different kinds of medicine at half hour intervals, but finally she could no longer take medicine or retain food. Hers was a peculiar and rare case, according to medical science, and of interest to our Stockton doctors, two of whom offered to give their services free to experiment; but I refused. It has been a pleasure to know of many who have been healed by Christian Science through the healing of our baby, and many are seeking to find the cause. The child is now so healthy and fat that people can hardly believe she ever saw a sick day.

Several months later I was awakened one night by my little boy, five years old, who had a high fever and was delirious; in fact he had every symptom of acute lung trouble. I telephoned to the Scientist who had done the work for my little girl, and she gave him absent treatment at eleven o'clock; but my fear was so great that the fever grew worse, and at one o'clock I again called her to tell her of the alarming symptoms. After promising to treat the boy, she told me to read page 410 of Science and Health. A sense of peace came over me and the child's breathing became easier, but as he still seemed to have some fever at two o'clock I telephoned to her again. I shall never forget the great joy I experienced when she told me the child was healed. On returning to his bedside I realized in a few minutes that he was sleeping naturally and had no fever. He awoke in the morning without a trace of the severe experience of the night before and played out of doors as usual all day.
