I began the study of Christian Science in 1905 entirely...
I began the study of Christian Science in 1905 entirely for the physical healing, after losing all faith in materia medica. For twenty-five or thirty years I suffered from the worst form of asthma, with all its attendant complications, but was healed of this distressing disease through Christian Science. I am thankful to God for this convincing proof of the power of divine Love, and am also grateful to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for giving to humanity this blessed truth that makes free. I was treated for over a year, and the healing came very slowly, but gradually I have been enabled to gain a better spiritual understanding of God and of man's relation to Him, and for this I am deeply thankful.
I am learning day by day that God is our ever present help in trouble, and I feel like exclaiming as did the psalmist, "Bless the Lord, O my soul!" My sincere desire is daily to learn more and more to trust God completely, to seek to do His will, and to show my gratitude to Him for Christian Science by living it and loving more. I trust this testimony may influence some discouraged and suffering one to seek and realize this healing truth.
Elizabeth Peacock, Clarksdale, Miss.
