Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. —The Christian Science literature distribution committee for the half year ending June 30, 1916, handled 4883 Sentinels, 369 Journals, 88 Herolds, 13,615 Monitors, 58 pamphlets, 583 lectures, 327 Christian Science articles, making a total of 19,923 pieces. This literature has reached several hospitals, fire halls, homes for incurables, overseas contingents, returned soldiers, police stations, convalescent homes, sanitariums, coffee houses, quarries, theaters, and many other places, and has been taken to those institutions by individuals. Many people have been reached through mailing lists and individual mailing, and also by the literature distribution committee.
Correspondence.
Wheaton, Ill.—Work has begun on the church edifice to be erected by First Church of Christ, Scientist, on its lot at the corner of Main and Center Streets. The seating capacity of the auditorium will be three hundred, but it can be increased to five hundred. There will also be an adequate Sunday school room. The total cost of grounds and building will be in the neighborhood of thirty-five thousand dollars.—Wheaton Illinoian.
Huntington Beach, Cal.—Articles of incorporation have been filed by the Christian Science Society of Huntington Beach.—Santa Ana Register.
Philadelphia, Pa.—The First Bible Christian Church, on Park Avenue below Berks Street, more commonly known as the "Vegetarian Church," is being demolished. On the same site workmen are preparing to erect a graystone structure that will be known as Third Church of Christ, Scientist. The auditorium will accommodate more than six hundred persons, and there is to be a Sunday school room in the basement. The edifice will cover a plot of ground 50 by 90 feet.
Philadelphia Ledger.
Marion, Ind.—First Church of Christ, Scientist, located at Fourth Street and Whites Avenue, will be opened Sunday [Oct. 1]. The dedication will follow when full settlement of all indebtedness is made, as that is the rule of the church. The auditorium will seat two hundred and seventy-five persons. The cost of the building, with grounds, was about seventeen thousand five hundred dollars.
