Before coming into Christian Science I was very unhappy...

Before coming into Christian Science I was very unhappy and irritable; it seemed as if I could not find my place in life. While in a state of almost utter hopelessness of ever being as other people, Christian Science was presented to me by a colleague in the office in which I then worked. I used to wonder about this girl and wish I were like her. I became deeply interested and secured all the literature necessary to my study. It was not long before I was taken up on the mount of revelation, and words cannot describe the wonders I saw.

After this I was taken down into the valley, where a mental chemicalization took place which was misunderstood in the home and by all who knew nothing of Christian Science. Beliefs of sickness, sin, and what not of mortal mind illusions came to the surface to be destroyed. My books were taken from me, I was put under a physician's care, and later sent to a sanitarium, but all this well meant attention was of no avail. I grew worse until nothing remained but a faint knowledge of Christian Science. Just as soon as I was allowed to have treatment, the clouds began to lift. Through the help of a practitioner I was raised from the depths into a life of true happiness and usefulness to others.

I am truly grateful for my experiences and for all the loving helps along the way expressed by fellow students, through the literature, and through the Wednesday evening and Sunday services of the Church of Christ, Scientist. The daily study of the Bible together with our text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, is lifting the veil from the understanding and I am beholding more and more of God's allness.
