I am not a member of the Christian Science church, but...
I am not a member of the Christian Science church, but wish to testify to the benefits I have received from the healing power of Truth. Over twenty years ago I underwent an operation for fistula, but it was far from successful, leaving me in such a condition that material means had to be resorted to twice daily. Also for a number of years I was a sufferer from hemorrhoids and hemorrhage; at times the suffering was so great I was unable to be on my feet all day, and it finally became so intense that my general health began to fail. Several good physicians were consulted, all of whom agreed that another operation was absolutely necessary; but having had some knowledge of the surgeon's knife, both from observation and from experience, I did not want any more of it.
A good friend insisted on my trying Christian Science, but my faith was too weak to believe that such long standing diseases could be healed by this treatment. About the first of March, 1913, however, the suffering was so great that I came to the conclusion that something must be done, so decided to take my friend's advice. I called a practitioner, stated my case, and asked for treatment. Much to my surprise my general health began to improve at once, and after taking one treatment a week for four weeks and giving a little time to reading Christian Science literature every day, I was healed. Today I am in better health than I have been for twenty years.
For all these blessings I am thankful to God, and grateful to the one who made available to the world this healing power of Christ, Truth.—O. E. Horrum, Los Gatos, Cal.
