The benefits I have received from Christian Science within...

The benefits I have received from Christian Science within the past four years have been so many that I feel I must express my thanks to God for them. I was brought into Christian Science while suffering from an aggravated attack of nervous exhaustion, and I obtained relief in two treatments. Three months later I discontinued the use of glasses after having worn them for several years. I have been healed of neuritis, rheumatism, and a chronic bronchial cough, from which I had been a sufferer as far back as I can remember. At one time I was severely injured by being thrown from a trolley-car; in fact I was picked up unconscious, with my face badly bruised from the fall. Through the help of friends in Christian Science, however, I was able to attend a Wednesday evening meeting within a week, with no ill effects apparent except some discoloration about the eye, and this disappeared very soon.

Some time ago I was suddenly taken with pain so violent that I could scarcely keep from losing consciousness before the practitioner came. When he arrived my body was cold and blue to the finger-tips, but I was relieved within thirty minutes and was resting quietly. I have also been healed of hemorrhoids, from which I had been a constant sufferer for over twenty years, and this to me was most wonderful, since I obtained relief in twenty-four hours. More than all this, Christian Science has brought happiness, contentment, and harmony into my life, where before there was nothing but fear and worry. I strive each day to live the life that can come only through the knowledge of the truth, to pray each day that I may be led along that straight and narrow path that leads to God, to know God's will, not mine, and to put my trust in God alone.

I derive daily comfort and strength from the Lesson-Sermons and all the Christian Science literature. "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy has become my constant guide, and the words of the Bible have never seemed so beautiful as now, while I am learning what it means to journey from sense to Soul. I am thankful to God for the blessings I receive each day, grateful to our dear Leader for the healing truth she has brought to light for us, and also to the dear friend and practitioner who so patiently guided my faltering footsteps when I was entering this upward path.—Frances Silverstein, Atlantic City, N. J.
