I desire to express my heartfelt thanks for all that Christian Science...
I desire to express my heartfelt thanks for all that Christian Science has done for me in the last eight years. It has brought peace and joy into my life and has made my home much happier. It has given me an understanding of God as Love, and that His image and likeness does reflect Him.
The morning that I read Science and Health for the first time, I was healed of stomach disorder which I was supposed to have inherited, and from which I never expected to be free; also of the belief of inherited lung trouble and heart disease. I had always suffered with my eyes, and I could not enjoy reading or doing any work which required close scrutiny for any length of time. I had worn glasses for years, but I still had severe headaches, said to be caused from the other ailments and from a fall which I had many years before. The eye trouble had become so serious that according to medical opinion I was fast losing my sight; nevertheless I found one morning that I had forgotten to put on my glasses and had been reading Science and Health all the forenoon, yet I had never been so free from pain. I have not had a return of any of the ills which disappeared that day. At that time I was, and had been for several years previous, almost starving because I could eat only very light food; but that day I ate whatever I wanted and have been perfectly free to eat anything ever since.
Words cannot express my gratitude to our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, and to all who have helped me to learn of God. I am much more grateful for the spiritual uplift than for the physical healing. I am grateful for the Christian Science periodicals, especially for the Monitor, which supplies daily food and always meets some particular need. I am indeed thankful to our Father-Mother God, and shall try so to live that my light may shine for the glory of God.
