Words fail me when I try to express, even in a small degree, my deep sense of gratitude for what Christian Science has done for me. I was healed of tubercular peritonitis after two operations had been performed. I had been an almost helpless invalid for six months, during which time I was constantly under the care of very kind physicians, who did everything possible for my relief. When, however, my family were told that there was nothing more to be done, and that I could live no longer than through the winter (this was the latter part of August, 1910), they prevailed upon me to try Christian Science treatment. The result was, that in a few months I was practically well, and by spring I was stronger and doing harder physical work than I had ever done before.

While I am very grateful for this healing, it is nothing compared to the greater blessing which God has given me,— the peace of mind which is not dependent upon outward circumstances, but only upon the degree of faith with which I am able to lay hold of the promise of Christ Jesus, "Lo, I am with you alway." As the Christ unfolds in the human consciousness, both disease and temptation lose their power, for "greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world."
