The Telegram recently contained an article, "Mental Healing by Suggestion," in which Christian Science was mistakenly referred to. Christian Science is in no way related to any system of healing that has for its premise reliance upon the human mind. Instead, it teaches mortals how to subjugate the human will to the divine, and makes possible the manifestation of the Mind "which was also in Christ Jesus," the mission of which is to heal the sick, reform the sinner, and make mankind "every whit whole."

The dualistic mentality which believes in both good and evil,—a belief which found expression in the allegory of the serpent in Genesis,—received no encouragement from the Master, who said, "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation." He disclosed, once and for all, the line of demarcation between Christian healing and occultism, or mental suggestion of whatever name or nature.

On page 1of "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, we read "The prayer that reforms the sinner and heals the sick is an absolute faith that all things are possible to God,—a spiritual understanding of Him, an unselfed love. Regardless of what another may say or think on this subject, I speak from experience. Prayer, watching, and working, combined, with self-immolation, are God's gracious means for accomplishing whatever has been successfully done for the Christianization and health of mankind." Christian Science is making known to a needy world the fact that the pure metaphysics as taught and practised by the Master is available in every age.
