William R. Rathvon delivered two lectures on Christian Science for Second Church. At the first he was introduced by Mrs. Gertrude Deane Houk, first reader, who said in part:—

One of the most hopeful signs of advancement in the present age is the universal desire for a knowledge of Truth. This insistent demand is leading mankind into an investigation of any subject promising enlightenment. This is one reason for the world-wide interest that is being manifested toward Christian Science, and an ever-increasing number are studying and accepting its teachings because it offers a practical and demonstrable religion, one that may be applied in solving the problems of every-day life.

At the second lecture, Atty. Oglesby Young said in part:—
