Kingston (N. Y.) Express
That Christian Science is both Christian and scientific is a fact that can be demonstrated to any unprejudiced person. Human opinion on this question does not suffice. In obedience to the command of Jesus, Christian Science does what other forms of the Christian religion of our time fail to do, viz., heals the sick by purely spiritual means; and it does this in addition to overcoming sin, reclaiming the drunkard, purifying the impure,—healing and saving mankind from all evil. The extraordinary growth of Christian Science throughout the world attests these fruits, and Jesus said, "By their fruits ye shall know them."
When the adherents of those doctrines which have left out of all question the one most essential part of the religious teaching of Christ Jesus, apprehend his instructions on this question of healing, they will no longer oppose Christian Science. On the other hand, they will recognize the great spiritual force Christian Science has made easily available for the betterment of every individual. Finally, they may even unite in extending the Christ-influence, which is truly expressed only through a scientific Christianity.
