At the age of twenty-one I became a slave to the habit of chewing tobacco, and I continued to be so up to Dec. 9, 1912. Prior to coming into Christian Science I made numerous attempts to overcome the habit, but utterly failed until I began to read Science and Health and all of the Christian Science literature. Today I have a disgust for tobacco greater than the former desire for it. Besides this, I have been healed of a very malignant case of skin disease on my head, which had made it almost impossible for me to comb my hair on account of the pain. I have also been cured of severe rheumatism and numerous other ailments.

For all these physical benefits I am sincerely thankful, but above all I am grateful for the spiritual healing received in Christian Science. I wish to express my thankfulness to God, and my gratitude to our revered Leader, Mrs. Eddy, for the blessings I have received.
