It is with great thankfulness that I testify to the benefits...

[Translated from the German]

It is with great thankfulness that I testify to the benefits received through Christian Science. In the summer of 1912 both my boys were attacked by whooping-cough, to which the younger one succumbed. I felt greatly worried about the older child, and a change of climate having been advised for me, I went to my mother in Germany. She is a Christian Scientist, and she gave me pamphlets and a few copies of the Herold to read. I soon applied to a Christian Science practitioner, as there was great fear in my consciousness with regard to my remaining child, as well as to the one whose birth I was expecting. I had had a serious fall twice, and this, in connection with the many preceding commotions, would, I believed, preclude the possibility of a normal birth or a healthy child; but through treatment in Christian Science these fears subsided, the birth took place within less than an hour and almost without pain. I felt fresh and well afterward, and happy about the healthy little girl that had arrived. As to the cough of my oldest child, it had entirely disappeared in the mean while.

I still have some struggles with my former concepts, but I hope to advance, through further study of the Bible and of Science and Health, on the way to light and truth. I gladly write these lines, as they may mean encouragement to some readers in the way that I have derived courage and comfort from the testimonies of others when things seemed difficult of comprehension. In the Bible we read, "Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him and he shall bring it to pass."-Frau Erna Schlabitz,Szolyva, Hungary.
