With reference to an article published in your issue of July 12, it is indeed cause for much rejoicing on the part of Christian Scientists that their religion is credited with all the good things that befall the lot of man. To attempt to influence another, however, by the use of mental suggestion and without the other's knowledge or consent, is not Christian Science, but as opposite to it as black is to white, or light to darkness. Mental suggestion should never be mistaken for the pure and uplifting religion of Christian Science. We read in the book of Isaiah: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."

Good in various forms is made to flow into the lives of thousands by an adherence to the teachings of Christian Science. Not through any human will-power does this good come, but by a reliance on the one Mind, God, does man receive his rich inheritance, because blest with the peace and joy of the spiritually-minded. Christian Science brings forth its fruits by the power of God, not by the influence of human will. Its healing works are the sign of God's presence with us, made manifest to human consciousness through the destruction of error and the healing of sickness and sin.
