Mrs. Eddy is engaged in doing good, not in amassing...

Peoria (Ill.) Star

Mrs. Eddy is engaged in doing good, not in amassing wealth; and in calling forth the enmity of the envious, she is merely paying the penalty of success. Her fortune is the result of a lifetime of toil and self–denial such as fall to the lot of but few, and she finds the reward for such labor in the alleviation of suffering rather than in the accumulation of wealth. Millions of people owe their freedom from the bondage of sickness and sin to the teachings of Mrs. Eddy. Their gratitude goes out to her for her patient, self–sacrificing labor in establishing this religion which has been of such inestimable benefit to suffering humanity, and all fair–minded people everywhere, whether in accord with her views or not, can but acknowledge her as one of the foremost women of her time, as one who has devoted her life to the welfare of others and has worked unceasingly for human betterment.
