I wish to express my gratitude for the help I have received...
I wish to express my gratitude for the help I have received in Christian Science, hoping that my testimony may help some one else who is suffering. A little over five years ago I cut my finger, but although it pained me very much, I paid no attention to it, until two or three months later, when my relatives began to be alarmed. I saw a doctor about it, and he did what he could, but the finger became helpless and the whole hand was affected. Finally he decided to amputate the tip of the finger; but the trouble, instead of being checked, spread over my whole hand and even my arm became helpless. Other physicians were consulted, and another operation was performed. I then tried specialists, and had electric treatment, including the X-ray. I went to different hospitals to be examined, but all the time I continued to grow worse. Still another operation was performed, and the bones in my hand and arm were said to be decayed. I had now given up all hope, as had my friends, and the doctors only gave me drugs to deaden the pain. Because of the intense suffering, I welcomed the thought of death.
Just about this time a friend asked me to try Christian Science treatment. I did so, and in a short time my hand and arm began to improve. In three months it was quite well. This was two years ago, and I am well and strong today. Jesus once said to the man with the withered hand, looking beyond the appearance and seeing the real and perfect, "Stretch forth thine hand;" and we read that the hand was restored whole. I am very grateful for this great blessing, and for many others which have come to me through the study of Christian Science. I am a living witness to the healing power of Christ, Truth, and I trust that my life will prove my thankfulness to God. To Mrs. Eddy, who has shown this truth to the world, I owe endless gratitude.—Mabel G. Coon, Detroit, Mich.
