I am indeed glad to give my testimony to the power of...
I am indeed glad to give my testimony to the power of Truth. It is over three years since I began to look into Christian Science. It appealed to me at once as the truth for which I had long been searching. I was warned to let it alone, but I said I should read it, for I knew what it had done for my friends, the great change in them for the better in every way, and I wanted anything that would make me as happy as they seemed to be. I had no prejudices to combat, for I had always joyed to meet a Christian,—caring nothing for the "denomination," though I loved my own church and was loyal to it; but its teachings had not brought peace to me, and I was striving so to live as to attain it after death.
I can never forget the joy that pervaded my whole being on realizing that I did not have to wait until after death to attain heaven; that there was a way of escape from what I had ignorantly believed was God's will for me here. Immediately on realizing the truth of Christian Science, I began to prove it for myself and for others. I have been especially blessed in having no antagonism to meet from my family. They were all glad for me to have something that makes me so happy. Several of them are reading Science and Health, and they are much impressed with the truth of its teachings. It is over two years since I became a member of The Mother Church. I have had many demonstrations of the power of Truth over error; indeed there is so much to tell that I cannot seem to make even a beginning!
With a heart full of gratitude to our Father-Mother God for sending us this truth, and to dear Mrs. Eddy, through whom we have received it, I press on.
