Within sight of the feast prepared for me in my Father's...

Within sight of the feast prepared for me in my Father's house, I had for a long time tried to subsist on the husks of materialism, but an acute attack of rheumatism opened my eyes to my condition, and I was brought to a state of spiritual and bodily health under Christian Science treatment. I want to add my testimony to those of thousands of others, so that any one in trouble may read and know that there is an ever-present and an ever-ready help for all their woes. I can attest not only to the wonderful healing power of Christian Science, from my own experience with this disease, but can tell of my experience under materia medica. Before I cared to know anything about Christian Science I was stricken with the disease. Material remedies were applied, but to mortal sense I suffered torture, and the relief I got was only temporary. I was carried about like a babe, utterly helpless, my body racked with pain. I was spiritually blind, and the blind were trying to lead me.

How different my recent experience! I say it with the conviction of truth that this experience was from its inception a blessing. My bodily healing is complete, but how much more beneficial has been the spiritual healing! My eyes have been opened to the everlasting truth. I can see clearly the path that leads to my Father's house. Even now I am enjoying the feast which had been prepared for the return of the prodigal, and what a welcome home it was! No words can express what I felt during those weeks of suffering, but I have been made to lie down in green pastures; I have been led beside the still waters; I have quenched my thirst at the living fountain of Truth; I have felt the unending power of divine Love. What more could one ask?

Science and Health with the Bible has been my medicinechest, and a loving disciple of Mrs. Eddy has administered the spiritual food as it was needed. I realize the force of Isaiah's words: "Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy; and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price."—Alvin T. Steinel, Fort Collins, Col.
