Matter is not and never was a healing agency, for matter (in whatever form employed) is inert, mindless, without intelligence—though, until one knows the truth upon this point, one may seem to be benefited temporarily by material means, according to the faith one reposes in such means. We have no record of Jesus' ever employing matter as a healing agency, whether in the form of human electricity or other material device. On the contrary, he invariably relied solely upon spiritual means to accomplish the healing work, never finding it necessary to supplement this with any human device. All through his ministry he pointed to his Father (Spirit) as the source of his power, and his method was not only immensely superior to all other known methods of healing, but was the method which those who profess to follow him were distinctly enjoined to practise.
