Christian Science is scientific Christianity
St. Louis (Mo.) Star
Christian Science is scientific Christianity. It is the provable knowledge of God, as taught and demonstrated by Christ Jesus. In her effort to restore the undivided garment of the Master's teachings, Mrs. Eddy has specifically stated in the preface to the Christian Science text-book, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," that "the Bible was her sole teacher."
Christian Science has nothing in common with a philosophy which would ascribe suffering "to discord of the four elements of nature," but heals suffering on the basis of the understanding that it is produced by the errors of mortal mind. To describe as "superstition" the belief that physical disease is curable by purely spiritual means, indicates a lack of appreciation of the teachings and works of the Founder of Christianity, and overlooks the fact that such cures were the signs which followed the understanding of the Master's teachings during the first three centuries of the Christian era, and are today the evidence of the restoration of a true sense of these teachings in Christian Science.
